As suitcases fill with souvenirs and memories, many hotel guests leave something else behind without a second thought: unused toiletries.

Winter is a season many look forward to - warm meals, cozy blankets, and time with loved ones. But for individuals experiencing homelessness or living in struggling communities, cold weather brings an entirely different reality. Staying warm, clean, and healthy becomes a daily challenge. Basic hygiene products, often taken for granted, turn into essential lifelines.

In a world where large organizations often dominate the spotlight, it’s easy to assume that meaningful change requires vast budgets and full-time teams. But at Promise Hill Project, we prove that compassion, dedication, and integrity can go much further than numbers ever could.

Around the world, millions of families struggle to meet their most basic needs. The United Nations estimates that over 700 million people still live in extreme poverty, surviving on less than $2.15 a day (UN SDGs). For these families, necessities such as food, clean water, hygiene products, and access to technology remain out of reach. Poverty is not just about income; it is about the dignity of having shelter, the health provided by nutritious meals, and the opportunity that comes from learning tools and resources.

Donating personal care items is a simple yet impactful way to support those facing financial struggles in maintaining proper hygiene. By providing these essentials, we can empower individuals, tackle hygiene poverty, and enhance overall well-being.

The concept of human dignity is fundamental. It's the inherent worth and respect deserved by every individual, regardless of their circumstances. However, for many struggling with poverty and limited resources, basic necessities like personal care items can be out of reach.

2023 was marked by transformative initiatives at Promise Hill Project, bringing warmth, hope, and essential support to communities locally and globally. While we are proud of the impact we have created, we also want to remember that we have a long way to go and need to continue doing the work we are passionate about.
