For many girls and women, having access to period products is an essential part of going to school, going to work, participating in daily activities, and living with dignity. Yet, when families face financial hardship, menstrual products can become another expense that is difficult to manage.
This October, Promise Hill Project is back with the Annual Period Product Collection Drive for the eighth year, inviting individuals, families, businesses, and community partners across the United States to come together and help provide essential menstrual hygiene products to those who need them.
The 2026 collection drive will run from October 15 through December 31, 2026, with a goal of collecting and distributing 5,000 period products.
Why Access to Period Products Matters
Period products are everyday necessities for millions of women and girls. When someone cannot afford or access them, the consequences can affect much more than personal comfort.
The 2025 State of the Period Study by PERIOD. and Thinx found that nearly 1 in 4 U.S. teens struggle to afford it period products. Among lower-income students, the figure rises to 34%. The study also found that 33% of teens reported missing class time because they did not have access to period products, while 39% said limited access affected their ability to do their best schoolwork.
These numbers show why community support matters. A package of pads, a pack of panty liners, or a box of body wipes may seem like a small contribution, yet for someone facing financial hardship, these essentials can provide comfort, confidence, and the ability to move through the day without an added burden.
Supporting Promise Hill Project’s Basic Needs Program
The Annual Period Product Collection Drive is part of Promise Hill Project’s Basic Needs Program, which focuses on providing essential resources to people experiencing poverty, homelessness, and other challenges. The program includes support such as food, shelter-related assistance, and menstrual hygiene products.
Through this drive, we work to make period products available to girls and women who may otherwise have difficulty obtaining them.
Every donation helps meet a basic need while also sending a meaningful message: you deserve to feel cared for, supported, and respected.
